I found these images on Failblog.org under the 'There I Fixed It' section. Very well titled, I must say. I always appreciate a nice ghetto rig when I see one. These made my favorite list. A few I might even consider to be genius.

Thoughts That Make You Think
I always enjoy reading anything that makes me ponder. Granted, nearly everything has that effect on me. These quotes, however, may also have that effect on you. Please feel free to comment with any quotations that you feel might add to this blog. If I agree, I might just make an edit!
Ink smears, as thoughts sometimes do. -Terri Guillemets
And upside down in the earth a dead man walks upon my soles when I walk. -Bill Knott
We are asleep with compasses in our hands. -W.S. Merwin
We are never prepared for what we expect. -James A. Michener
You can owe nothing, if you give back its light to the sun. -Antonio Porchia
Take the so-called standard of living. What do most people mean by "living"? They don't mean living. They mean the latest and closest plural approximation to singular prenatal passivity which science, in its finite but unbounded wisdom, has succeeded in selling their wives. -E.E. Cummings
We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
-T.S. Eliot

Who Am I?
I am no one in particular. I am you. You are me. I am a part of everything connected to everything else. A universal web of energy connects our bodies, our countries, our world. We are connected, each of us, in a force so powerful that we can 'feel' emotion based on a strangers expression. We can hear laughter and find its force, magnetic. How beautiful this realization is to me. It is this connection which simultaneously disconnects us all. We pride ourselves in being original, the 'one of a kind' syndrome. We place ourselves in categorized classes based on our individuality. Ironic, don't you think? In the big scheme of things, does anything I say matter? Some days, I think not. Today, however, I think…Hell Yes.
So, who am I? I am whoever you believe me to be. After all, it is you that creates your reality. I am just another person walking around in a world that you've created. In essence, I am your creation and you, mine. Creepy, but interesting. What kind of people live in your world? When you answer that, you answer everything you need to know about who YOU are. If you don't like the answer you find, it's time to change your world.
Wishing you an "Aha!" moment, kind of day.

Age Four and All Boy
Meet my nephew, Lucas. He's four, not three. He loves anything that involves dirt and I've never seen him in a clean shirt. In this video he is digging for dragon teeth. Watching kids being kids always makes me smile. Too many kids grow up without having ever searched for a single dragon tooth. This is a sad fact.

Quotes to Inspire
Quotes to Inspire, a set on Flickr.
Two back to back days of inspirational blog posts. I'd like to say it's solely because I've been in the mood to share my positive energy with the world, but I'd be lying. Seems I've been in need of this positive energy to keep myself in line. Sometimes in life it's easy to get wrapped up in the bad stuff, the sad stuff. When I begin to annoy myself with negativity, I find it's helpful to read anything motivational/inspirational. It helps to put ones life into perspective. Hope you enjoy the creations. Feedback is always greatly appreciated :)

Quotes to inspire and awaken your soul...
"The vision that you glorify in your mind, the ideal that you enthrone in your heart, this you will build your life by, and this you will become." - James Allen
"Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." - Steve Jobs
"Don’t go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." - Mark Twain
"The world makes way for the man who knows where he is going." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Man is the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes." - Gandhi
"It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life, that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself." - Ralph Waldo
"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children...to leave the world a better place...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Your thoughts are the architects of your destiny." - David O. McKay
"He who cannot forgive others destroys a bridge over which he himself must pass." - George Herbert
"You can have anything you want if you are willing to give up the belief that you can't have it.' - Robert Anthony

Tina Fey-The Mother's Prayer For Her Daughter
First, Lord: No tattoos. May neither Chinese symbol for truth nor Winnie-the-Pooh holding the FSU logo stain her tender haunches.
May she be Beautiful but not Damaged, for it’s the Damage that draws the creepy soccer coach’s eye, not the Beauty.
When the Crystal Meth is offered, May she remember the parents who cut her grapes in half and stick with Beer.
Guide her, protect her
When crossing the street, stepping onto boats, swimming in the ocean, swimming in pools, walking near pools, standing on the subway platform, crossing 86th Street, stepping off of boats, using mall restrooms, getting on and off escalators, driving on country roads while arguing, leaning on large windows, walking in parking lots, riding Ferris wheels, roller-coasters, log flumes, or anything called “Hell Drop,” “Tower of Torture,” or “The Death Spiral Rock ‘N Zero G Roll featuring Aerosmith,” and standing on any kind of balcony ever, anywhere, at any age.

Urban Dictionary Favorites
I have compiled a list of some of my favorite Urban Dictionary definitions. Call me a giant geek, but this stuff makes me giggle and I like to giggle.
Social Chameleon-someone who changes the way they interact with people depending on who they're with.
If You Will-a phrase overused by those trying to sound sophisticated and/or intelligent.
Hype Aversion-rejection of an insanely popular idea, game, show, place etc. simply because it is so insanely popular.
Arch Douche-the title given to someone high on the corporate ladder, in a position of authority, etc. who is also a douchebag.

Boregasm-the result of or act of reaching the apex or climax of boredom; filling one's capacity for boredom to the extreme boundary
Premature Exasperation-becoming upset about something before knowing all (or any) of the details.
When The Economy Picks Up -common beginning or ending to a sentence. It can serve to:
- provide an excuse for why one has not yet done something.
- suggest a vague intention of doing something later (similar to how Spanish speakers use the word "maƱana.")
- add minimal credibility to an idea that is a pipe dream.
- There's no point in looking for a job until the economy picks up.
- I'll start my business when the economy picks up.
- Unemployment levels will go back down to the levels they were in the late 1990s when the economy picks up.

When Technology Fails
Attempting to drink my virtual latte. An obvious FAIL. |
My Dearest Love itouch,
We've been through so much together. You've taught me how to play the Keyboard, your Words with Friends application has made for countless bonding hours. Not to mention, it's taken my vocabulary level to a whole new playing field, you morph your little robot brain into a Remote Control upon request, you photograph and film the highlights of my day (so that I can instantly Twitter them, which you also help me with). You know me so well that you can even predict the song best suited for my every mood (and I have a lot of moods). BUT, there are still a few things (and I think others may agree with me) that make me feel like your powers are ultimately limited. Envision 'if you will'---
- A Scratch & Sniff feature - how can I purchase perfume via amazon if I don't even know what is smells like?
- How about a 'real time' Dream Reader? - the whole Dream Journal app is simple and cute for documenting and storing what you remember having dreamed about, but who remembers an entire dream? If you can read my music mood, why not read my mind? Slacker.
- 360-Degree Holographic Projection - facetime is missing one major attribute. When I'm talking to my friends and family I want to really feel like they're in the room with me.
- Face Scanning Profiler - I'm pretty sure the CIA has it, why can't I? Next time I hire a babysitter it would be convenient to slyly (while pretending I'm playing Angry Birds) snap a picture and BAM...in zooms a mini profile that highlights anything of security importance (ya know, like whether or not I'm potentially hiring a previously convicted child porn addict) and maybe supply a few of their latest facebook status updates.
- Lastly, I'd really like to see a 'What would Will Ferrell say?' app - First, because it would make everyday a laugh fest. Second, we all have those 'not so funny' people in our lives. Who better to save their humour deficit than the comedy god himself.
It's important to me that you understand how committed I am to the growth of our relationship. We both deserve a healthy balance of give and take. I always buy the most fashionable jackets to dress you up and keep you both safe and warm. I feed you (electrically speaking) and clean you daily. I take you on all of my adventures, both big and small. In return, perhaps you could amuse me with something mind bottling after you complete your 708th update, which is to take place this weekend. Yes, yes I know after your last update you thought that you were really throwing me a wild card when you added a black dog to the corner of my Words with Friends game icon. Sure, it was cute...but at this juncture in our relationship it's time you start bringing a little more heat to the table.
Syncfully Yours,
Me
